1. What it is used for

The MVG-1 is a portable digital vacuum gauge for measuring vacuum during the dehydration of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The gauge connects to the system via a 1/4" SAE connection and measures in the range of 0–19,000 microns.

In addition to vacuum, the gauge displays the ambient temperature (Tamb) and the water saturation temperature at the current vacuum (TH₂O). It has a large, backlit LCD display and a built-in 1,000 mAh battery charged via a USB Type-C port.

Assessing moisture in the system. Comparing TH₂O with Tamb shows whether water in the system is already boiling off at the vacuum reached, or whether evacuation must continue.
1-micron resolution up to 400 microns. In the 1–400 micron range the reading changes in 1-micron steps, and at higher values in steps of 10, 100 or 250 microns.
Eight vacuum units. Vacuum can be displayed in microns, mTorr, inHg, Pa, Torr, kPa, mbar or psia, and the gauge saves the selected units automatically.
Replaceable oil filter. The filter under the sensor nut reduces oil contamination of the sensor, and 3 filters are included.
